Her First WordPete peered down at his daughter, holding one of Rose’s hands within his own as he stroked her cheek with the other. “Go on, Rose, can you say my name? Can you say ‘Daddy’?” He smiled as she just stared up at him with wide eyes. “I know you can, you’re as smart as you are beautiful. Yes you are, and I bet you could say ‘Daddy’ if you wanted.” He looked away from her as he heard the front door shut, his wife turning towards him to walk further into the flat.

Rose laughed, concentrating on her own notes in the game. "You're just bitter because you're rubbish."

Despite intending to have a lie-in, the next morning Jackie woke at seven, instinctively getting out of bed to see to Tony. Pete grabbed her hand before she could get very far. "Stay." He tugged her back into bed, wrapping his arms around her middle to let her settle against his chest as he cuddled her. "Tony knows to come to us if he needs us."

"I know, and I wouldn't usually worry but I'm still worried about Alexia. If I was four I wouldn't like waking up in a place I don't know around people I barely know."

"Rose, hold out your hand." The Doctor ran his fingers along her arm and across the back of her hand, coaxing her to raise her arm. She followed his touch instinctively, suddenly forgetting the mass of people that were downstairs waiting for them as she was drawn in by his piercing eyes, once again finding herself enchanted by her Doctor. She dropped her gaze to her wrist as agile fingers tied a TARDIS blue ribbon into a bow. When he'd finished she flipped her arm over, completely unaware that he was nervously watching for a reaction, relief flooding through him when she began to grin.

"Yeah, yeah I bet she did, why don't you wait until she wakes up though?"

Rose stepped closer to Jackie, delicately stroking Tony's cheek; he was curled up in his mother's arms, blue eyes wide as he smiled up at her. "Of course I know that." She looked down at the baby boy, rubbing his nose and smiling as he giggled. "Hello."

"I do." He narrowed his eyes at the Doctor, annoyed that he wouldn't listen to him. "Mummy and Daddy and Rose are human so that means I am too."

"I think I'm pregnant."

"What?" He stood, staring at her in disbelief, a smile gradually spreading across his face. "Say that again."

She smiled, almost laughing. "I said, 'I think I'm pregnant.'"

Rose sighed with contentment as she lay in her Doctor's arms, his two hearts beating softly in her ear. She felt him lift his hand from her waist, beginning to trace invisible, swirling patterns across her bare back and pressing the occasional kiss to the top of her head. She smiled subconsciously as she recalled everything that had happened in one night; she had gone from doubting what she meant to him to a state of pure bliss with him humming away in her mind, having shown her the whole of his.
